Homework 9/8/09

2. Get a folder or make a folder with construction paper that holds:

a. A typed outline

b. Your introduction paragraph

c. Your 1st body paragraph

Period 3
1.Post vocab sentences
2. Type the outline that you intend to use to write your essay and include your fixed thesis in the I. Intro section.
3. Type the Introduction paragraph to your essay with your thesis included. Make sure that it is double spaced.

Vocabulary Words Grav-Lev

1.)Gravid (adj.): The gravid group of women struggled to get up to the top floor by stairs.

2.)Gravitas (n.): The children always carried themselves with gravitas when stuff in a bad situation.

3.)Gravitate (v.): After they heard the pleasant jingle of the children gravitated towards the ice-cream truck.

4.)Gravity (n.): After they saw the tears running down their face, they realized the gravity of the situation and stopped teasing her.

5.)Alleviate (v.): After having the Vicodin in his system, the pain was alleviated.

6.)Elevate (v.): When Trayvonne hyper extended his knee, I had to keep it elevated so that it stop the swelling.

2. He never seemed too nervous when playing soccer with his teammates because of the gravitas each soccer player possessed.

1. My house parent, Quinn, is gravid with her first daughter and is in her third trimester.
2. Derek's attitude during study hour was very gravitas and he didn't allow any disruptive behavior.
3. During the winter I gravitate towards my blanket.
4. When the principal says something, the students listen because of the gravity of his words.
5. It would be nice to alleviate my stress.

7. Bakers use yeast for the purpose of leavening their bread.
