Please read the section "What is Modernism?" from this link in order to help you understand why some of the readings are from this period (especially "A Clean Well-lighted place" since it has no questions).

Read "The Mask of the Red Death" and complete the response for the Romantic Period if you have not already.
Read the readings for the Whtiman/Dickinson section and choose one to write a response on.
Study for reading quiz on both of the sections (Romantic and Whtiman/Dickinson)

IF YOU WERE NOT PRESENT, ASK SOMEONE ABOUT THE SECTIONS. THIS IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.
Make sure to underline the content and a purpose on your packet (like you did in class) and paraphrase them in that manner. You are however expected to understand all of the paragraphs in the section. Do not gloss over the information.

2. Complete the Lesson 4 packet
If you haven't written a response on the works and emailed them to me, do so.
Period 2
Read the Article we discussed in class and write down 5 questions that you have or would like to ask the author.
