Concurrent; adj: During the whole conversation, their thoughts were so concurrent, that they could predict every word that each other would say, before the other could even say it.
Cursory; adj: He only took a cursory glance at the handout and was not prepared for the pop quiz on it the next day.
Discursive; adj: His argument was so discursive that the audience was so lost and confused that they left right in the middle and didn’t care to continue to listen.
Precursor; n: It is common that a missed monthly cycle is the precursor to a possible pregnancy in most women.
Expedient; adj: It is more expedient to bring a skateboard to a skate park up the street rather than a bike because the ramps are too small.
Expedite; v: I paid an extra $5.00 in order to expedite the process of the package I mailed off to my mom 3 days before Christmas.
Impediment; n: The road block was a great impediment to me getting to work on time.
