Homework 9/30/09

Period 1
  1. Post vocab sentences
  2. Make vocab gestures with a partner
  3. Please bring your peer edit response to class to turn in for credit tomorrow.
  4. Fix any corrections and work on the areas mentioned by your peer.
  5. Work on your essay and bring in your most recent copy so we can share with the class.
  6. If YOU HAVE NOT DONE AN ESSAY YET, BRING IN A COPY OF WHAT YOU HAVE TOMORROW.

Period 3

1. Paraphrase the 4 functions of creation stories from "The World on Turtle's Back" packet p. 31

2. Make the table that shows examples of what that means, using ANY of the creation stories that we have read.

1.)Adjacent: My mom’s bedroom is adjacent to my room so, it was kind of hard to sneak to sneak into the kitchen for some cookies.

2.)Conjecture: I could only conjecture what my grade in Biology was, because the teacher wouldn’t tell me.

3.)Dejected: Even though she won the lottery, her father’s death still had her feeling dejected.

4.)Trajectory: The trajectory of the quarterback’s kick is what enabled him to score the winning field goal.

5.)Detract: My love for her will never detract no matter how her day is going.

6.)Protracted: Because more people showed up and added their two-cents, the argument was protracted another two hours.

7.)Retracted: Because I had unacceptable, my mother retracted my birthday presents.

8.)Intractable: The reason why I missed the problems on the math test is because, they were intractable.
