Homework 11/25/08

Period 1
  1. Read Pages 65-72
  2. Fill out the Temperance chart and keep up with it during the weekend.
Remember that you have integrity and are honest, right?

Period 3
Finish your Compare and Contrast Essay on Bradstreet and Sor Juana poems.
Please note:
  1. IT MUST BE 2 PAGES IN LENGTH. AT THE VERY LEAST 1/2 A PAGE.
  2. 12 POINT FONT
  3. DOUBLE-SPACED
  4. TIMES NEW ROMAN, ARIAL OR CALIBRI FONT
  5. 1" MARGINS (this is usually automatic, so don't mess with the margins. Don't try anything sneaky;-) )
  6. LEFT JUSTIFIED. DO NOT CENTER YOUR TEXT.
  7. INCLUDE A TITLE (SOMETHING MORE CREATIVE THAN COMPARE AND CONTRAST ESSAY)
  8. MAKE SURE YOU INDENT EACH PARAGRAPH.

Period 1
  1. Study for Vocab Quiz
  2. Choose 1 activity in Edwards packet in the Writing Options section and bring in a paragraph that shows you have started it. :-)

Period 3
  1. Decide what things you want to include in your essay and make a list
  2. Work on an outline for your essay.
  3. Type your first 2 paragraphs if you already have them hand written or if you want to get a head start.

Refer to your Venn diagram and comparison chart.

• Finish the Reader’s notebook Chart
• Finish reading the packet.
Extra Credit post a comment on this blog, discussing your opinion on the sermon. At least 4 sentences.

Period 3
  • Find 5 sentences form the vocabulary blog and correct them. Make sure that you write down the incorrect sentence and the revised sentence.
• Have 2 rough draft paragraphs for your essay.

Period 1

1. Have an adult revise your essay and sign revision sheet. Make sure they print their name and title under the signature .

2. Have a completed, typed final draft of essay

3. Make sure you have both the peer edit sheet, the adult revision sheet, and a rough draft attached to your final draft essay.

The order should be as follows:
Top: final draft
2nd: parent revision

3rd: peer review

4th: rough draft

1. Create a new outline for your essay and begin a rough draft (at least 2 paragraphs)
* You have the option of emailing them to me or writing them down and submitting them on Wednesday.
2. Study for Vocab Quiz

Period 3
1. Post vocabulary sentences on blog
2. Complete the chart on pg. 34 in the Writing section. Do this individually.
3. Compare your chart to another classmate's once they are completed (discuss and share) and then write a response (1/2 page minimum) that tells me:
  • Whether you agree or disagree with your partner's responses.
  • Who do you think is right?
  • Explain why you think it's the right response.
  • Do they better evdience or do you have better explanations for the answers?
