2. write a 1/2 page response on each story

Think about the discussion we had and how different they were. Consider how important it is to look at all the different perspectives of a story or culture.

• Read pgs. 4-10 in Holt Literature and Language and take notes on each heading.
• Research a creation story. Print it out and bring it in to class.

Period 3

• Research and answer "Beginnings Questions" (questions that were copied off the board in class)
• Read Encounters and foundations packet.

Period 1
Autobiographical Writing Assignment

• Write 2 paragraphs describing an event in your life that has helped to define your personality. Explain what characteristic you feel was influenced by this event.

Period 3

• Finish Classwork handout
• 2 truths, 1 lie
• Write Ms. Ramirez a letter that discusses at least 2 different topics, that give me an indication of your personality.
• Write synonyms on top/near the original word in the text.

Welcome to the new school year!
I hope that all of you had a good day on your first day of classes. I just wanted to tell you how happy I was to be at school today and how excited I am for the coming year. I think that we will grow tremendously and I am hoping to really see what you are all made of. I hope you are looking forward to this also.
